Centaur 12 x 40 removes both chloramine and hydrogen sulphide from potable water. Centaur is outstanding in VOC removal, taste and odor control and operating efficiency when compared with traditional activated carbons.
Standard Centaur is a coal based catalytic carbon, this Centaur is entirely coconut shell carbon and is processed the same as the original giving is the same properties. The coconut shell variety as with all coconut shell carbon doesn't have the same capacity as the original, but it does give an economical option.
Advantages:
- The large surface area results in an exceptionally high capacity and efficiency. Activated carbon is very hard so losses due to attrition are kept to a minimum.
- Activated carbon is an outstanding material for applications requiring taste, odor and color removal from water with suspended matter present. This product can be used for filtering waters having a wide range of pH levels.
- Activated Carbon has a very high carbon-low ash content. Service rates of 5 rpm/sq. ft. are practical for ordinary taste, odor and color loads
- Activated carbon will import a high "polish" to the filtered water

1. Water to be filtered should preferably be free of oil and suspended matter
